Rather than designing each interior from scratch, this service allows clients to select from established Atelier formatting systems, which are then thoughtfully adapted, configured, and applied to their manuscript by the studio.
This approach ensures consistency, production readiness, and aesthetic restraint—while avoiding the inefficiencies and unpredictability of fully bespoke design.

When the service is open, formatting projects follow a catalogue-based workflow:

Clients are presented with a small, curated selection of Atelier manuscript systems appropriate to their genre and project scope. - System Adaptation
The chosen system is then adapted to the manuscript—adjusting typographic scale, spacing, hierarchy, and ornamental restraint as needed. - Manuscript Application
The adapted system is applied consistently across the full manuscript, producing a cohesive, production-ready interior.
This process balances design integrity with project-specific judgment, without resorting to generic templates or unlimited customization.

The Atelier maintains an internal catalogue of manuscript formatting systems developed through in-house publishing work.
Each system is designed to:
